A Good Friday Whine

It’s the end of the week and while most people are going to be enjoying a glass (or 4) of wine sometime today I’d like to have a good whine instead. Or a whinge as Sam calls it, which I actually think sounds a lot more pleasant. There are a few things on my mind which are of no importance to anyone else but here are my weeks worries:

#1. Where are we going to live?

That’s right, at the end of next week we will be homeless for 2 weeks. Are we going to travel? Are we going to bit the bullet and book a hotel? What will we do?! Here’s what’s caused the trouble. The RSC is DONE in Stratford next week! Huzzah! There is a 2 week break and then they go to Newcastle for 3 weeks before being done entirely. Now we have somewhere to stay in Newcastle. But this awkward time off during the break? No effing clue. We need to be close to London for two reasons: we have two separate weddings to go to, and we need to look for a flat for after Newcastle.

I am obviously freaking out about our impending homelessness but Sam “flies by the seat of his pants” T. has been reasonably nonplussed about this.

#2. A moan about being a bridesmaid.

My little is getting married in Atlanta next month. Don’t get me wrong, I am extremely excited for the wedding and so, so honoured to be a bridesmaid. But man. Bridesmaid’s dresses are expensive. Especially when they need to be ordered from JCrew.

Which brings to the subsection of this whinge: JCrew.

JCrew, who are you making your clothing for? Giants?

There’s a good 7 inches of fabric pooled around my feet.  *

Your vanity sizing is ridiculous. But despite your exorbitant cost, oh bridesmaid’s dress of mine, I’m going to have to get you tailored because you are so long. I am 5’6” and I think that’s about average, right? The surely this amount of extra fabric is silly. Now I’m going to have to spend money on something that was super expensive in the first place.

*Please note the world’s smallest tv in the background. Yes, that is what we use to watch our programs.

#3. How do other bloggers do it?

This Wednesday I had my second blogging date with the incredibly lovely Laura whom I was matched with several months ago for Cara boxes. Last week I went to Birmingham to visit her, and this week she came down to Stratford to visit me. And not a single photo was taken on either occasion. That’s my huge stumbling block as a blogger. How does everyone else manage to document their fun activities in photos whilst still having fun? Most of the time, when I am enjoying myself taking photos completely escapes my mind unless someone or something reminds me.

How do you all manage to do it?!

That wasn’t a rhetorical question. Seriously, how do you balance living in the moment and documenting it?
