Confessions: I am a (not-so-secret) kid at heart

Dear readers, part of who I am is being a big kid. I make up songs, I talk to myself, I like princesses and fairytales, I really want to go back to Disney World, and I like movies that make me laugh more than any other type. I also love sweet things, bubbles and colouring. Basically I could throw an excellent party for a 7 year old. But the most embarrassing (for Sam) thing I do, is playing with children’s exhibits at museums and galleries.

You’d think being an actress would curb my enthusiasm for playing dress up but it doesn’t. Playing dress up was my favourite afternoon activity as a child and not much as changed in 25 years. Tempt me with a box of silly period clothing and I will give in with in minutes.

Here’s the proof:

At a museum in Birmingham. Don’t even ask.

In the costume section of the V&A in London.

The bath museum in Leamington Spa.

In Wilmcote, one of the attendants here was marching towards me (probably demanding I not play with the clothing) so I didn’t get time to snap the dress up.

Oh, you know, just spending the day being a pirate at a Tudor museum.
