Blogging and Privacy

I wear yoga pants to work (literally) and it’s not all it’s cracked up to be. I shall clarify this point.  In fact, this post will be the most I ever talk about my job in London while not acting. When not acting, I work with kids. And that’s as far as I’ll ever blog about it. I wear anything that I will not get upset if x, y, or z gets smeared on it, soaked in water or caked in food. I literally came home with fish fingers in my hair once. So while the blogging ideal seems to be wearing yoga pants and comfy sweaters all the time, I envy the beautiful dressed women on the Tube.

So while my blog might give the appearance of sitting around eating cookies, spending time on the internet and the occasional audition, it never mentions the day to day business. And this is because I feel 100% uncomfortable ever mentioning other peoples children on my blog. I’d never even think of mentioning children in Sam’s family. No matter how cute the crafting project.

That’s why the only pictures you’ll ever see of babies here are of Baby Me.
This is Baby Me for the record.

I know there are some other teachers/childcare workers/any one else that works with kids that don’t mind mentioning incidents during the day, posting pictures of their clases or art projects, etc. I just am personally very uncomfortable being in that position. If a parent wants to put a picture on her blog of her kid of a story from her kid’s day power to her! But where’s the line if you’re a blogger  and it’s not your kid? I’ve decided to avoid any grey area at all by ignoring work. That way no one can ever use my blog as an excuse not to hire me and I wont be sued 6 ways from Sunday by an angry parent.
