From our home to yours, I hope everyone had a very merry Christmas. And today I’d like to wish everyone a happy Boxing Day! Before I moved to England “Boxing Day” was new to me, though I know it’s not to any readers from the UK, Australia, Canada, Hong Kong, New Zealand, and South Africa (apologies if I forgot any others!)
But for those readers, who like me, didn’t know what Boxing Day was, it is a bank holiday the day following Christmas when servants and tradesmen would traditionally receive gifts from their employers known as a “Christmas Box”.
