I may be in London, but my heart is set on Kefalonia, Greece

During the fall of 2013, Sam and I were able to go on an amazing trip to Turkey.  (You can read about our various Turkish travels here, herehere, here and here.) It was such a brilliant time, and I can safely say that it was one of my most memorable vacations ever. But when we came back I was struck by post-vacation depression. And I think the only way to combat that is so plan your next big adventure.

We booked our Turkey holiday using Thomas Cook which worked out so well for us! Since we, as actors, can’t book our vacations in advance like most people, using a travel agency allowed us to find some amazing last minute deals- and I am talking really last minute: we booked our trip two weeks before going! But with our employment that’s as much prep time for a holiday that we’ll ever really have.

Since it worked so well for us last time, we’ve been having a peak at their website the past few days to see what place we’d like to go in the future. And whilst they have some amazing destinations we have picked out perfect one: the Thomas Cook holidays to Kefalonia!  When we are spending money on a vacation we both prefer to go somewhere where it’s pretty much guaranteed to be warm to escape England.

Kefalonia is the biggest Greek isle in the Ionian Sea. It has beautiful forests, beaches and mountains. Sami, a seafront town is where ‘Captain Correli’s Mandolin’ was filmed. (And while that movie was bad, it was picturesque.)

You can see why I am determined to visit now, right?

In cold, grey, boring, hope-sucking January, it’s images like these that help keep my heart hopeful!
