32 Things That Make Me Happy

It’s so easy to get swept-up in things that I don’t like. Or things that I wish were going more smoothly in my life. But actually I’m lucky in so many ways. I liked the one-off link up that Sarah has going around right now for this reason. Surprisingly, I was able to think of 32 things that make me happy really quickly. And that in and of itself makes me happy!
*These are in no particular order. Obviously, I do not love bread more than Sam/friends/family ……….well………. *
32 Things That Make Me Happy
1. Bread. I’m deadly serious.

2. This guy.

3. Whenever I am reunited with my gorgeous, talented, amazing best friend.
4. Being caught up in a really good book.
5. All holidays. I love them. Including my birthday (aka the best holiday of all.)
6. Having a diet coke first thing in the morning.
7. Picnics in warm weather.
8. Guacamole.
9. Laying out on the beach.

Ah to be back on a Turkish beach. The good life.
10. The existence of panda bears.
11. When my brother proves that he is actually hilarious.
12. Sunshine. Full stop. The weather directly impacts my mood.
13. Dancing for joy, despite the fact that the downstairs neighbours might think an elephant lives above them.
14. Traveling somewhere new.
15. Getting acting work.
16. Going on long walks.
17. Binge watching tv.
18. Having fresh flowers in the house.
19. Clean linens. Especially when I haven’t had to wrestle the duvet into the duvet cover myself.
20. Harry Potter.
21. Listening to music through speakers and not through headphones.
22. Getting pedicures with my mom while eating Oreo Blizzards. (Yes we do that.)
23. Seeing a really good piece of theatre.
24. Naps. Or getting to sleep in. So… sleeping?
25. Puppies.

26. Days when I don’t have to take public transit.
27. Not wearing pants in the house.
28. Accomplishing something I’ve set my mind to.
29. Learning a new skill.
30. Giving and receiving genuine and excessive amounts love.
31. Nerdy jokes.
32. Organising things. Pay me in money, food, or hugs and I’ll sort and label anything you want. I find being organised really satisfying.

  • After a big night Diet Coke in the morning is just the bestest thing ever!

    • Yep, yep! I also like having a McDonald’s breakfast on those mornings too, but maybe that’s just me… x

  • Amy @ the tide that left

Love all the happies! There are so many on here that I agree with, but last night we changed the bedding (and Mr Tide wrestled with the duvet cover – score) so I woke up in gorgeous, clean white linen this morning and it felt heavenly!

    • Isn’t it brilliant?! I don’t know if I’ll ever master the skill of not getting frustrated with the duvet when I am trying to change it though. Even when Sam is helping me, it seems like one person has to crawl inside to straighten it out… maybe we are doing this ALL wrong. x

  • So many of these make me smile, and of course I think our Birthday is the best holiday of all!

I’m inspired to make a list of my own after reading all these great ones!

    • Make one! I’d love to read it. Sorry about the puppy. But not sorry because he’s the most adorable thing on the planet. x

  • Happy blogging! Great minds think alike! πŸ™‚

  • Really all you had to write was #20. Harry Potter is the equivalent of happiness – period.

  • Becky Mattox

Gosh I love bread! It would have been the first thing I would have listed too. It makes me more happy than is probably normal πŸ˜›

  • Great list! Birthdays are definitely the best holiday of all! Enjoy them while you still can. LOL.

    • Hahaha. I’ll be turning 26 so I’m no spring chicken. I’m hoping to always enjoy my birthday πŸ˜‰ x

  • I feel like we are very similar people. I would love to meet you one day, seriously! I love being in the middle of an awesome book. Unfortunately I always greedily read it in a short time because I am so into it, fully knowing that it may be awhile until I find another great read again! Not wearing pants.. I remember I was 16 walking around in my underwear at home and my brother was like, “Seriously, put some pants on. It’s gross.” Haha! Puppies, so cute. Actually every time and I mean EVERY TIME I see a bunny hopping in the street or on someone’s front lawn I squeal, Bunny!! Like it’s the first time I’ve ever seen a bunny in my life. I just think they’re so cute.. and they wild ones kind of surprise me… because they’re just suddenly there! (And I’m baffled that no one is trying to steal them..) Harry Potter- Yes! The weather- seriously, if it’s a gorgeous day I am in THE best mood. Rainy, I feel blah.. You and your mom are adorable.. oreo blizzards and pedicures. Aw.. How long has it been since your last one? I bet the answer is… too long.

    • Way too long! Last July maybe? πŸ™ It just means that you and Rob and Alina are destined to take a trip to England one day, right?! (Also how do the bunnies remain safe? I’d really like to know this!) x

  • I love that your first one was bread haha. Bread is the best. Actually, all I need in life is bread and Harry Potter and I’m set!

    • You could take away most food things from me and I’d be sad about it, but if you took away bread from me there would be no end to my sorrow! x

  • Haha the fact that the first one is bread means that we could be very good friends. I wholeheartedly agree!

    • If we are united in a love of bread then that means we already have a super alliance πŸ˜‰ x

  • Priscilla Eliodoro

  • I love your list! Such a happy list, you can’t help but feel happy from reading it! πŸ™‚
