Chocolate Chip Oreo Stuffed Cookies

It’s pretty obvious by now that I have an inner Bruce Bogtrotter (from Matilda), and a vicious sweet tooth.  I’m pretty sure that everyone by now has either tried, seen, or pinned a recipe for the Oreo truffles (which are crushed Oreos mixed with cream cheese dipped in Bark). While this is them, minus the chocolate coating, stuffed inside a chocolate chip cookie. Yep. I went there. And it was good.

In all their glory.
(Recipe from Picky Palate)
(For cookies)
2 sticks of softened unsalted butter
3/4 cup of sugar
3/4 cup of brown sugar
2 large eggs
1 tablespoon of vanilla
3 1/2 cups of flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon of salt
2 cups of chocolate chips
(For oreo balls)
21 oreos
3 oz of cream cheese
Preheat oven to 350 F.  Cream together the butter and sugars until thoroughly combined. Beat in eggs and vanilla. In a separate bowl, shift together the remaining dry ingredients. Then mix in the wet ingredients. Lastly, fold in the chocolate chips.
Put the oreos in a food processor (or put them in a ziplock bag and smash them with a rolling pin) until they are finely ground. Mix in the cream cheese until a dough is formed. Take 1 tablespoon of Oreo dough and roll it into a ball.
Scoop out even amounts of cookie dough onto your cookie sheets. Make little depressions in the center of each cookie for the oreo ball. Then work the cookie dough up and round the oreo balls until they are covered. Bake for 12-15 minutes.

I obviously don’t eat this way every day, but a little cookie every now and then won’t kill you, right?

  • They look good. Are they chewy or crunchy? I enjoy a chewy cookie very, very much. In fact, I judge most cookies by their chewy factor. The more chewy.. the better the cookie- in my honest opinion. Bruce Bogtrotter.. I recognized the name but glad you clarified. Saved me from having to google it. πŸ˜‰

  • Oh man. These look AMAZING!

  • Oooh, I had a friend make these once, and they are SO GOOD! They are even better in person than in theory, or the opposite of “slutty brownies” which sound awesome but aren’t that great.

    • YES! The “slutty brownie” is so overrated. They sound like heaven on a plate and then aren’t…Which is saying a lot because a) I have a massive sweet tooth and b) I have no shame about eating processed food (obviously not all the time, but occasionally, you know?) Also I sometimes use personification when it comes to my food sometimes but if I start to sexualize it, please bring me back to earth. Can that be a deal we make? x

  • oh man… oh man these looks SO good!

  • Oreos in anything makes it better. My friend bought a brownie, stuffed with layers of oreo and peanut butter in camden market. It looked incredible. These cookies look pretty dangerous too.
