After writing a post earlier this summer about Tooting Bec Lido in London, I was invited to attend the Chandon pool party, a party at the Lido to celebrate Moet Hennessy releasing “Chandon”, a new sparkling wine. Besides the pretty sweet Chandon gift bags there was swimming, synchronised swimming performances, a dj, free sorbet, food trucks, and obviously, a lot of bubbly.
It was all vaguely vintage themed, including some gorgeous vintage swimming caps. I enjoyed my Chandon bubbles and I would certainly recommend it. The idea behind Chandon is to lure drinkers away from high-end Prosecco without paying Champagne prices.
The evening was hilarious and slightly surreal – I guess that comes from attending a party were there is synchronised swimming occurring… I just wish it had been earlier in the summer because if it had been warm, the vintage pool party vibe would have been more fun and I might *might* have taken a dip in my new swimming cap.
Tooting Bec Lido is such a special place and it was the perfect venue for a night like this. One of the reasons I’m sad about the end of summer is that I won’t get chance to swim there again until next year. But now I’ve discovered it, I’m basically going to camp out there during summer 2015.
British weather permitting, of course.
Some far, far braver souls than I faced the fairly chilly water for a dip.
This might just be my new look.
Sam’s swimming ability is best suited for the location above…
I had completely forgotten that there were supposed to be synchronised swimmers until they came out…
Can I just say, sychronised swimming is a super impressive skill? Where do you learn to do that?
