A Room With a View

In the past 12 months I’ve been lucky enough to wake up in some pretty special places. From Stratford-upon-Avon, to Paris, to Turkey – I’d like to think that they all had different but equally amazing views! I’m linking up with Emma to celebrate that fact.

Stratford-upon-Avon

For newish readers, it might surprise you to hear that for a lot of last spring-fall I was based in Stratford-upon-Avon, aka Shakespeare town. Living in Stratford had pros and cons but the beauty of the area that surrounded our flat absolutely couldn’t be denied. We lived at the far edge of town, and the back of our flat was right up against the River Avon.  The noise of the weir became a part of my nightly sleeping routine, and in the summer opening the windows essentially welcomed the entire bug population of the English countryside into our home. That sounds grim, but I loved it.

Belek, Turkey

This was the view out of our hotel window in Belek. There really isn’t much more to say about this one is there? This is what Turkey looks like October. Paradise.

Jesmond Dene, Newcastle, England

Because Sam was traveling with the RSC last fall, I got the opportunity (through him) to spend a few weeks in the Jesmond area of Newcastle-upon-Tyne. Newcastle has so much more to offer than just being a party/university town – I promise!

These are just some of the highlights from my recent memories. What location would you include?
