5 Tips For Re-igniting Your Inspiration

I know that I definitely have days when I just feel completely uninspired. Either life just isn’t doing it for me, or I am feeling frustrated at my job. I know it’s a common feeling, especially in the blogging would, were people can “go off” blogging in a heartbeat. Today I have a treat you for. My lovely sponsor Louise from TheWhatNowBlog is here with some tips to combat those feelings. Take it away Louise!

Getting Your Mojo Back!
5 Tips For Re-igniting Your Inspiration

I’m sure we all have days when we don’t feel like getting out of bed and getting on with the day ahead. Whether working in an office or from home, everyone faces that kind of day when, even once you’ve shuffled half-heartedly to the bathroom, got washed, dressed and have found yourself sitting at your computer, you just don’t feel inspired to do anything whatsoever. It can even happen at weekends – you feel you should be basking in your two days of freedom but instead end up closing the door, slumping in front of the TV and basically waiting for Monday morning to come back around.

It’s fine to feel that way now and again, and occasionally giving in isn’t a problem, but if you’re finding yourself lacking in energy and enthusiasm and you’re wishing you could jump back into your stride then how about giving my top five tips for finding your mojo a go! Never fear because it is possible to still find inspiration even if you’re lacking in general motivation.

1. Wake up and focus on the positive. Finding inspiration and motivation has a great deal to do with your mindset and how you choose to focus on things. If you’re feeling lost and overwhelmed and start the day focusing on all of the negatives then that will continue in a downward spiral. Think about the good things, the achievements, things that you have coming up that you’re looking forward to and with this shift in thinking I’m sure you’ll already start feeling more inspired with more of a spring in your step.

2. Do something to change up your environment. This could be something really simple like putting some music on that will get you in a good frame of mind or buying a candle with an exciting new scent. Or it could be a bit more involved like completely revamping the space you are working in, moving a room around, re-decorating. Whatever you chose, having a shake up of the space around you can really kick your motivation into gear and fill you with bright new ideas.

3. Do something unusual. This is quite a classic one I suppose but you really can’t beat doing something a little out of the ordinary to give you a new and exciting sense of perspective. Again it doesn’t matter how big or how small the activity is, whether you choose to try out a dance class or sign yourself up for a parachute jump! Sometimes a little spontaneity and giving in to a long held dream about something you’ve always wanted to try can really wake up the body and brain. It might just give you the boost that you’ve been looking for.

4. Don’t isolate yourself. This is very important. It’s so tempting when you’re feeling lacklustre, uninspired and demotivated to begin to shut yourself away and hide. Isolation isn’t going to improve the situation. Not only that but quite often being around great friends and family can be incredibly inspiring especially when you hear about what they’ve been up to. You’ll find yourself feeling motivated to get stuck into new things yourself.

5. Find something simple and fun, take a break and indulge! Most people I know have a favourite film, book or TV program. Sometimes sticking on your favourite movie can do wonders for your inspiration and really perk you up. Perhaps watching old episodes of your favourite TV show will make you laugh or inspire you because of the fashion, the places they visit or the food they eat. Often just taking a break and indulging in a good read or a cheesy movie will give you the space you need to start feeling yourself again and get all fired up to face the rest of the week!

So if you’re feeling a bit stuck in a rut then why not give one of these ideas a go. I hope they help to spark your enthusiasm and get you back on track and ready to face your next challenge at work or indeed in life.
