I was fortunate enough to be asked to review an Italian Food Hamper from Nife Is Life. And needless to say, I couldn’t have been more impressed with their services! My order was pretty much at my door immediately! They offer same day delivery inside London and next-day delivery elsewhere in the UK. The premise behind it all is to make fresh, quality Italian food easily accessible to the UK market at reasonable prices. Their cheeses get flown in directly from Italy every Tuesday and Friday.
I was extremely impressed with how lovingly everything was packaged. The dry goods were wrapped in the a beautiful basket, whilst the goods that needed to be kept cool were carefully chilled in freezer bags surrounded by ice packs.
I received taralli caserecci, some artigianale pasta, pomodorini tomatoes, italian sausage, parmesan, San Daniele ham, burrata cheese, and buffalo mozzarella.
The taralli were a type of savoury-snack cracker, that are a specialty in southern Italy and they were eaten quite quickly! I’m glad they aren’t available in my localstore, because they are so addictive I’d buy them all the time. They are like a brilliant cross between bagels and crunchy pretzels and you can dunk them in wine! My sausage was imported from the Aurunci Mountains that week and they had a richness to them that was unlike any other sausage I’d ever had before! All 3 cheeses were incredible, but the mozzarella really took the cake. It was simply delicious and I know I could eat it all day, every day!
I haven’t had the opportunity to try the pasta and the tomatoes yet, but based on the quality of all the other items, I know it will be great!
Their Top 5 products in the UK are : Buffalo Mozzarella, Parma Ham, Parmesan DOP, Datterini Tomatoes, and Gnocchi.
I cooked my sausage in a bit of olive oil and some thyme.
