Aside from getting done-over by the National Rail /East Coast Train Line debacle on Saturday, otherwise known as Finsbury Park 2014, we had a really great Christmas. We spent the last few days in Scarborough relaxing, eating tons of delicious food, having a wide range of drinks from daiquiris to wines, and playing tons of quiz/board games. And trust me, this was a very competitive group of people and there were only minimal fallings out over all the games we played.
Sam and I were blown away by the fact that the nieces and nephew did not wake at the crack of dawn at Christmas as we expected, but waited until a totally reasonable 7:30 am to wake up. Kids these days, eh? It was also Sam’s birthday so I had more energy than Sam knew what to do with. I lay there in the morning willing everyone to wake up so that we could get the day going!
Although I did abhor the time difference to Albuquerque on Christmas Day- I felt like I had to wait forever for my family to wake up so that we could Skype. Darn that 7 hour time difference!
While I weigh significantly more now than I did only this time last week, it was all worth it!
I got to kick off Christmas a few days early with a lovely Laduree delivery sent to me by my favourite Aunt.
I wish I always had this many macarons on hand.
Christmas morning in embarrassing pjs and glasses, eagerly awaiting the day’s festivities to begin!
A tiny chair from Sam’s new favourite game: chair stack.
Everyone wears antlers at Christmas dinner. Tradition.
We had the best Christmas crackers ever this year: everyone had a racecar inside and immediately after dinner some very serious racing begin.
Watching the car racing going on below!
How was your Christmas?
