10 Things That Have Made Me Happy Recently

Happy Friday the 13th! Very spooky! Before I get started speaking about some of the things that have made me happy since I last checked in, I’d like to take the time to thank all my readers and commenters who’ve offered their congratulations via social media. I really, truly appreciate it with all my heart.

10 Things That Have Made Me Happy Recently
1. This past weekend at Great Fosters + our big news

2. Rhyme & Ribbons 2nd birthday!

3. Attending the launch of a new Joy collection called Valley of the Dolls. It has this really laid back, LA/70s vibe with lots of bright patterns, fringe and lacy. There were definitely a few dresses I had my eye on!

4. Finally meeting Katy at the opening of El Patron in Putney.  I can definitely recommend the cocktails. (Order The Scorpion. You won’t regret it. Until the morning at least.) Unfortunately, aside from some guacamole, I never got to try any of the food. The second servers brought round plates the crowds fell on it like wolves who have never eaten. I clearly wasn’t assertive enough. Katy assured me that it was delicious.

5. Putting up my first baking vlog and people seemingly enjoying it?

6. Attending “Matilda the Musical” for work on Wednesday.

7.  The extra daylight hours are going a long way to make me feel more spirited about the cold!

8.  Valentine’s Day is tomorrow. A lot of people think Valentine’s Day is cheesy, and it is, but I enjoy it! In light of last weekend, Sam and I are having a really low-key day. In fact, we will probably celebrate by running errands together and then eating something delicious.

9.  On Sunday, I get to go to an afternoon tea for work. Yes, I have to work on a weekend. But come on, an afternoon tea? Amazing!

10.  I feel both excited and terrified about the release of the sequel to “To Kill a Mockingbird”. It’s long been one of my favourite novels, and Atticus Finch is probably the greatest fictional man of all time. I’m terrified that “Go Set a Watchman” will ruin him. I’m also swayed by the arguments that Harper Lee didn’t have full capacity to approve of the novel being published. However, I’m anxious to read it. Even if it will result in extreme disappointment, I know I won’t be able to stay away.
