Life Lately || Happy Things

Happy Friday to all! I’m very much looking forward to the weekend and having a long lie-in! I’m also looking forward to doing a big grocery shop over the weekend as we currently have about 4 different kinds of mustard, a few sprigs of rosemary, and 3 grapes in the fridge.
life lately renegade week
I ate Dum Dum Doughnuts (this will probably make Lindsay* jealous) and attended the Renegade Craft Fair at the Old Truman Brewery. I’ll be doing a write up about it next week, but everyone should keep their eyes peeled for when it comes to a city near you!

I got some lovely bouquets from Columbia Road Flower Market. We went towards the end of the day when all the flower sellers began slashing their prices. I picked up quite a bit of lavender which hopefully I’ll be able to keep around for ages once it dries.

I saw “The Railway Children” with Sam’s mom on Wednesday. The show is for kids, but it’s just magical. The cleverness of the set is super impressive!

Last night, I attended a beer tasting at The Clachan. I was able to bring a plus one for once so I thought Sam would really enjoy it! I learned so much and I can’t wait to blog about it in greater detail later.

Game of Thrones was back on Monday. It’s going to be a good summer… there were a lot of complaints that it started off slowly, but I can’t wait to see Tyrion back in action.

Sam and I had our first bbq of the year on Tuesday after work. Yes, at 7pm it was a bit cold outside, and yes, it was just a disposable grill from the pound shop…. but grilled halloumi tastes oh-so-good!

There was a lot to be done at work this week and I think I’ve just about managed to tick most things off my very extensive to-do list. (Most but not all.) I find it really hard to stop working on a project or issue once I’ve started. If a problem arises on one day, and if I haven’t resolved it by the end of the day it lives with me all night long until I can work on it again the next day. This resulted in me getting up in the middle of the night on Tuesday to send out some emails.

I watched the Oxford v Cambridge Boat Race last weekend – though I’m loathe to call this year’s a race, so that’s one thing I can tick off my ABCs of Spring list!

Sam’s been taking loads of headshots lately and I’m so pleased for him.

Next week for work I’m going to see “Everyman” with Chiwetel Ejiofor in its first night of previews at the National, and am very excited about that!

*Speaking of Lindsay – her latest post made me laugh so hard I cried. I think it was the mullet…. *
