Renegade Craft Fair Comes to London

Last week I mention that I had attended the Renegade Craft Fair at the Old Truman Brewery. Renegade Craft is the largest indie-craft fair, and one of the first of it’s kind. It started back in 2003 and its format hasn’t changed much since. It’s a weekend long event, showcasing beautiful DIY talent/makers. It’s traveled around America and Europe.

The Old Truman Brewery was the perfect location for the fair, and I sincerely hope that a lot of the foot traffic from the weekend markets in Shoreditch and Brick Lane made it inside to check out some of the incredible things these highly talented individuals had for sale.

It made me wish I had lots of money to shop, and there were about 700 different prints that I wanted to buy. Both my lack of cash and my lack of wall-space restrained me slightly. However, I had recently won £40 in a bet and that money was burning a hole in my pocket. My obsession with dachshunds reached new heights and now one proudly has a place of honour in our sitting room. The print was from Ros Shiers and I greedily loved all of their incredible dog prints. And I couldn’t resist the lure of the Deathly Hallows necklace from A Weathered Penny. It’s a more subtle way to proclaim my love of “Harry Potter” on a daily basis than wearing my Deathly Hallows t-shirt.

Renegade Craft Fair’s next stop is Austin, Texas but it’ll be back in London in November.
