Champagne Event? Sign me up!

One of the things that still consistently surprises me about blogging is the sheer honour that I feel when I am invited to an event. It has yet to stop thrilling me any time I get an email notification of an invitation. Attending the Jacquart Champagne event during the Clerkenwell Design week last week was no different.

Jacquart launched the Rosé Cube, an aperitif set comprising a limited edition of the Rosé Mosaïc, glasses and an ice bucket all in a cube shape to  celebrate the 40th anniversary of its flagship Cuvée Rosé Mosaïc. But the Jacquard brand has been leading the way for over 50 years now in France. I love that the company says that their key values are “audacity, elegance and passion” which are values that I hope to identify strongly with throughout my life.

The weather alternated between sunny and showers of rain in fits and spurts, not ideal for a garden party, but completely predictable and everyone barely flinched as they continued to sip their champagne with umbrella in hand.  I have to admit, most of the time I’m not a huge fan of rosé. I tend to find it a bit cloying. The Jacquard, however, was delicious. It had just enough tartness and brightness to balance the sweetness, making it very nicely drinkable.

I was pleased to have time to catch up with the lovely Jess over several drinks, and glad to have someone else as obsessed as I am with taking photos of everything. The garden itself is tucked away in Clerkenwell, and it’s stunning. Jess mentioned that she actually attended a wedding reception there in the past, which sounded glorious!
