Q&A with Angie from Silverspoon London

Angie is one of my most loyal sponsors, so I’m thrilled to have her back on my sidebar once again! So today, I give you a peek into the mind of Silverspoon London! (And if you pay extra close attention, I think you might find some excellent recommendations for a fabulous summer in London.)

1. What goals for you have for yourself in regards to blogging this year?

At the moment I’m blogging five times a week, I’d love to keep that up as I really love the feeling of publishing something every week day! I love seeing more and more readers and new comments on a regular basis and I hope that my readership continues to grow organically.

2. You’ve had incredible blog growth since you started. What are the keys to your success?

I can’t emphasise enough how important engagement is…I keep in regular contact with my readers and other bloggers. I read other blogs, engage with them and comment and I always reply to my comments. I like to keep in regular conversation with bloggers, readers and brands on social media too. The best thing is meeting people in person and I’ve made so many new friends during my last year and a half of blogging.

3. What would you recommend as your favourite London summer activities?

I love Taste of London, a festival held annually in Regent’s Park where some of London’s best restaurants come to together and offer mini-tasters from their menu. Otherwise, I just love being in London generally in the summer time, the whole place changes, drinks at rooftops bars, pub lunches in the garden and picnics in the park!

4. What are you most looking forward to this summer?

Lots of weddings, christenings and fun with family and friends! Enjoying the sunshine both at home and abroad with lots of food and wine!

5. Is there one new restaurant that you are dying to try this summer?

I’m really keen to try the original Ivy in Covent Garden now that it’s been refurbished, it’s such a classic so I’m excited to see what’s new!

6. What’s your favourite place in London to have a drink on a summer day?

I love a roof top bar and my favourite has to be the bar at Shoreditch House which has it’s own pool and a fantastic view of the city. I also love Radio bar at the ME hotel, Sushi Samba and Aqua Kyoto. I also recently went to The Ivy Garden in Chelsea, it’s the perfect place to enjoy the sun with a Pimms.

7. What is one thing you’re super proud of that you’ve accomplished lately?

I was incredibly proud to feature in The Observer with a few page interview on my recommendations for places to go in SW1.

8. Any upcoming travel plans?

In a couple of weeks we have a big family trip to Cannes to celebrate Mr Silver’s dad big birthday! In August I’m excited to be heading to Asia for the first time in years with a trip to Singapore and Bali, I’ve visited both countries before and I’m excited to return.

9. How does it feel to have your first year of marriage under your belt?

Lol!  No different to how I felt before 😉 . It’s nice to feel happy and secure with someone you love but life hasn’t changed much since it all became official! We had such a lovely anniversary in Rome and looking forward to celebrating many years to come!

10. What exciting things might we see on SilverSpoon London in the future?

There are a few changes and redevelopments afoot so watch this space but other wise expect food posts to make you hunger, travel inspiration to ignite you wanderlust and lots of luxury experiences both a home and abroad.

That’s all from Angie!

  • Good call on Taste ofLondon. I’ve been a few times. It’s always great to actually get to meet the people behind the food and drink as a lot of them are small independent run businesses. Great interview!

I’m trying to think of how I want to grow my blog, so this Q & A was really helpful. Also, makes me miss London so much! Nothing like enjoying a Pimms on a nice day. 🙂

I’ve just started following Angie on Twitter! What a life she leads!

I’m totally in agreement about the need to engage with readers and other bloggers. I don’t have a huge following at all, so it’s not all about that, but it does help you enjoy blogging so much more. I blog because I love the connections I make, and you definitely need to be active in the creation of those connections.

    • It’s an amazing life, right? It’s basically something that I could only dream!

And yes I completely agree – you need to engage with readers, that’s what makes it interesting. That’s why I have a tendency not to read “big” bloggers because I want that interaction. x

  • oof, now I really want Pimm’s! haha
