Q&A with Emma from Emma Inks

Today I have the amazing Emma from Emma Inks answering a few of my questions today. Keep on reading to get to know a bit more about the woman behind a thoroughly awesome blog. (All the praise that I threw her way in my August Sponsor Round Up still stands!)

Emma

1. What motivated you to start blogging?

After years of studying at university and landing myself a desk job I felt like I needed an outlet for my creative streak. Also, living in London and travelling a lot, friends often asked me for advice on where to go so I thought, if they were interested, other people might be too.

2. What’s the one thing that really surprised you about blogging?

The thing that surprised me most is that there is a such a large community of like-minded people that I didn’t even know existed. I have met so many wonderful people by simply bashing my thoughts out on the Internet, which was a completely unexpected bonus of blogging.

3. What inspires you personally?

People who are not afraid to stand up for what they believe in and who follow their own path.

4. Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

Ideally travelling the world and sharing my stories along the way. More realistically, frantically typing in a tiny London flat still trying to make it happen.

5. Who is your biggest style inspiration?

I wouldn’t say that it was so much a person that inspires my style but more music, movies and subcultures. I am mainly inspired by rock, skate, biker, grunge and people that I see on the street.

6. What would your perfect London based weekend look like?

Friday night meeting my boyfriend at his studio in Shoreditch, grabbing a quick slice from Voodoo Ray’s then heading to the Old Blue Last for some random live music.

Saturday – A leisurely brunch at Counter Café before cycling up to Broadway Market, sampling some food and either sitting in the park or heading to London Fields Brewery, then back down through Victoria Park for a swift pint at People’s Park Tavern, then back along to Crate brewery for pizza before dumping the bikes and heading to Genisis Cinema for a late movie in Studio Five.

Sunday – A very late brunch at either Caravan or The Grain Store at Kings X with friends before walking along the canal to Camden, having a peruse around the markets and either getting a Sunday lunch at Edinboro Castle or getting picnic style food from Wholefoods before heading home and catching up on some Netflix shows.

7. What’s your favourite place you’ve ever traveled to and your top future destination?

This is the most difficult question yet as travelling is my number one passion.Though I don’t have a favourite place, the one that I have gone back to most frequently is New York, especially the Lower Eastside as I love the grittiness and rock history associated with the area. The place I talk about most (according to my boyfriend) is New Zealand the natural beauty mixed with adventure suits my travelling style perfectly.

8. What’s your favourite form of social media? (Instagram, pinterest, twitter, facebook, etc)

Twitter is brilliant for conversation but I do love scrolling through Instagram for stunning images, style and holiday inspiration.

9. What are your favourite London restaurants ?

I love to eat out because there are so many amazing restaurants in London but I am a casual dining kind of girl; some of my laid back favourites are;

Pizza – Crate Brewery or Voo Doo Rays for a slice.
Veggie Burger – Honest or Stokey Bears
Curry – Tayabbs
Healthy – Ethos
Brunch – Grain Store
Street food!

10. If you could only ever shop at one store, what would it be?

Is saying Selfridges London cheating because they stock everything? If it is then I would have to go for Weekday, I love their mixture of well crafted basics with quirky fashion pieces.
