My Skin Care Routine

I’ve been really blessed skin-health wise. I never really had spots as a teenager, and breakouts now are limited to around once a month. (Knock on wood that I don’t jinx myself for the wedding.) My biggest skin issue is that sometimes my skin just gets way too dry and I can get scaly patches in the winter, especially around the mouth and sometimes on my eyelids. Lizard eyes are super sexy, I know.

Now-a-days, I am starting to see crow’s feet creeping in. I blame that primarily on my terrible vision and my proclivity to squint to see everything, even with contacts in or glasses on. That’s something I can’t really change so I’m just going to have to get on board with. Thanks late twenties.

I was lucky that my mom drilled the importance of a skincare regime into me at a really young age. I used the Clinique 3 Step System for years and years. And then one day, I found that my treasured Dramatically Different stopped moisturising me quite as well and I had to shake things up a bit.

Products I use: Simple Eye Make up Remover. Simple facial toner. Trilogy mineral mask. Clarins HydraQuench Cream. Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Oil

My current routine is nothing groundbreaking and looks like this: a wash and moisturise in the morning. At night I remove my make up before washing, toning and moisturising and then finishing off with my Kiehl’s recovery oil. About every other evening, I do a scrub after taking off my makeup and before washing my face. Once a week (usually on a Sunday) I do a face mask as well.

What does your skin care regime look like? Any products to recommend me? I’m always on the lookout for a new moisturiser.
