Life Lately || 10 Things That Made Me Happy

Happy Friday everyone! I missed out on one of these posts last week when I was up in Yorkshire, but I’m back this week to fill you in on what’s been going on in my life lately.

>>> I’m a huge X-Files fan, and own every season on DVD. I’ve been making Sam blitz through them in preparation for the new series that starts in a few weeks. He still has two seasons to go. I’m not very kind and proclaimed that I’d start the new season without him if he hadn’t caught up by then.

>>>The last few weeks have been so so wonderful and full of activities. From Lumiere London to the Sherlock Holmes Museum, it was packed with goodness.

>>> I’ve been trying to pair my wardrobe down, an offering to the gods of minimalism and simplicity. Where I struggle is getting rid of clothing that I have sentimental attachment too. No I don’t need my dance costumes from when I danced with a company during University, but I feel weird parting with them, even if they are just taking up room in my very small wardrobe. The same goes for my jazz shoes, ballet slippers and character shoes.

>>> I booked my appointment to apply for my next visa application. Hopefully this one won’t be as stressful as the last since I get to apply in person and get my answer that day, it better be worth it as I just spent all my savings making this appointment. My appointment is in a few weeks so it gives me some time to finishing getting all my documents together. This next round of visa applications isn’t necessarily happy, but I’ll be glad once it’s over so that I can stop worrying about it. Everyone pray that the UK doesn’t kick me out.

>>> This week I discovered Pod’s Keralan vegetable pots. They are crazy good and it helps make my vegetarian work-week far easier. (I have to walk by Shake Shack, that old temptress, every day.)

>>> We had a great trip up North. It’s always good for the spirit to spend some time on the Yorkshire coast. Hello bracing air! But if you follow me on Instagram, you’ll see that some of our runs were more picturesque than our South London ones.

>>> We managed to squeeze our cake tasting and measuring our venue for planning the layout and decorations while we were up North. Super exciting times. After our tasting, I think we may have changed our minds on what we want it to be, just because they were all so delicious!

>>> I’ve started receiving back our first RSVPs which is crazy exciting!

>>> As I checked my email around leaving work yesterday, I received a message informing me that my wedding dress had touched down at the shop. Talk about exciting! I’ve almost forgotten what it looks like. And I very badly want to tell Sam about all its details. It’s such a temptation.

>>> Runs up along the Yorkshire coast are a fair bit more enjoyable than ones through Upper Norwood. Maybe if I’d grown up with a rugged seaside path, I’d be in better shape.
