Nature

London || Hampstead

I teased you last week by mentioning in a post how much I loved Hampstead. I also reiterated this love when I posted about designing my own haunted walking tour of London. (Including some great pubs in Highgate.) But I decided that now is that time that you should be able to see what I see and fall in love with the area for yourself.

I sing the praises of South London endlessly, and I’d be loathe to give up my SE postcode, but if there’s one area that I’d do it for it would be Hampstead/Highgate. Of course, I would have to win the lottery for that to be an option, or be left an inheritance that I previously knew nothing of. Does anyone else fantasise about being the long-lost niece and only surviving relative of some grand dame living all alone in one of these massive North London abodes and being surprised with a letter stating that I’ve been willed it? Just me then?

You can’t go wrong with a day spend roaming around the area, as long as you include a stop in at the Holly Bush pub before you leave.
