What a strange and stressful week it’s been! Did anyone else get caught in that weird intense snow/hail 15 minute blizzard on Tuesday? I was outside for it’s entirety. That’s my poor luck. Where’s my spring weather at?
10 Things That Made Me Happy This Week
>>> On Saturday I had a wonderful lunch with Sam’s family. Hello crispy duck salad – yum!
>>> On Sunday, Sam and I had sole charge of his little nephew for the night. His brother was nominated for a BAFTA and was at the ceremony (he didn’t win, but losing in the director category to Shane Meadows is still like winning right?). I’ve watched over many a little one, both as a nanny and for family, but never overnight. Morning snuggles are the best, even if they are at 5am.
>>> Game of Thrones is back on. Enough said.
>>>I went to Ikea to window shop for a new sofa. Our sofa at the moment has one amazing thing going for it – it was free from FreeCycle, but it’s not going to win any awards in terms of comfort or looks. I’m the weirdo that thinks it’s fun to go to Ikea just to have a browse.
>>>I got to have a good catch-up session with my oldest and best friend. Since she’s about half a day behind me time-wise, long calls are rarer than I’d like. I was so happy to have the opportunity just to talk about life with her.
>>> Breakfast for dinner. Eggs and avocado on toast has been a delightful dinner staple this week.
>>> Between now and the wedding, I only have two weekends in the next few months that I do not have to work during, so I’m going to savour this time as much as possible!
>>> It was my lovely mom’s birthday this week. Though I wish I was there in New Mexico to celebrate with her.

>>> Most importantly, this weekend is a Bank Holiday weekend. Bring on the 3 day weekend!!!!
