Even though August is almost over, we’ve had some of our warmest weather of the summer this week! Long live summer! I enjoy this season more than any other, though it can be trickier to dress for. As most of my readers may have caught onto by now, my taste in clothing veers towards vintage and retro-inspired. I love edgy highstreet fashion but feel like I look anything but edgy when I see the looks on myself. And don’t even get me started on the horror that was trying on a cutout bandeau dress in TopShop one day. Fierce on everyone else, ridiculous on me.
Just give me a floral dress, fun romper or Peter Pan collar and I’m a happy (and more importantly – comfortable) lady. And I’m just not yet ready to give up on summer. And luckily, this August has been pretty glorious! Far better than June!
In the most basic way possible, I’d love to roll together Audrey Hepburn with Alexa Chung as my style icons. Which is why classic outfits with a vintage-twist suit me best (in my opinion). I find them more flattering on my figure and more “me” to wear. Sometimes it gets trickier in the summertime when the Coachella look reigns supreme, but it’s not impossible!
