10 Happy Things Lifestyle

Life Lately || 10 Things That Made Me Happy

What a week, eh? I haven’t done a “Happy About” post for the past three weeks, even though I had one drafted for last week.  How could I post it when it felt like the world had started to burn down around my ears in the early hours of Wednesday morning last week?

But I have many, many small things in my life to be grateful for. And it’s been so long since I’ve written a post like this that my happy moments are quite far-reaching in the time continuum.

>>> My brother’s birthday always kicks off the beginning of November. I can’t believe how old he is now – I still think of him as a baby! And then my best friend and maid of honor’s birthday followed up straight after his.

>>> Halloween came and went in all its glorious creepy style. I hailed back to my early years and ate so much candy that I felt a bit ill!

>>> I have finished my rewatching of the Gilmore Girls which means that I’m ahead of schedule for the premiere on the 25th. I can’t wait. #teamjess

>>> In order to get as much time with people in as possible, we stayed over with Sam’s brother and sister-in-law so that we could stay up late without being hampered by London buses getting us home at night. I was hoping to blow my nephew’s mind in the morning when he woke up and we were still there, but alas! He seemed to sense our presence.

>>> We had an amazing Bonfire Night with some friends, who treated us to dinner and drinks as a belated wedding present before we all bundled up to watch the Crystal Palace firework display.

>>> The nice people at our (former) local pizza joint, 400 Rabbits, gave us a free pizza which was pretty darn awesome of them!

>>> I got a nice hair tidy up trim at the wonderful George Northwood. (Thanks Lotte!!!) I used to only get my hair cut once every 16 months or so (if you couldn’t tell by my out of control mane) and I’ve aways done my own bangs/fringe, but getting a haircut always makes me feel SO much better about myself so I’ve decided to treat myself every few months. I rarely spend money on myself and it’s the small things, right?

>>> I attended the Laura Ashley SS17 press preview and there were some BEAUTIFUL pieces in stock for the future. There was an amazing dungaree blouse combo that I loved. And I rarely gravitate towards green, but I really liked the leafy motifs throughout the summer range!

>>> Oh right, and we moved! We are now based up in York. At the moment we have zero internet and zero tv access. We’ve reached an impasse with packing. We are awaiting  an Ikea delivery with some essential things like a bookshelf, a wardrobe and a sofa so most of our belongings are still on the floor at the moment. We’ve also been eating dinner on cushions on the floor, which is exactly the way we did when we moved into out first London pad!

>>>  I have a new city to explore! York is so gorgeous that there aren’t enough hours in the day to take all the photos that I’d like to take.

Sam’s away photographing all weekend, so I’ll have some quality alone time to do some exploration. Any York recommendations?
