10 Happy Things Lifestyle

Life Lately || 10 Things That Have Made Me Happy Recently

It’s been a few weeks since I’ve done a happiness post; I feel like it’s the perfect time to do one last one before Christmas! York has still been treating us well, and I’m still in the honeymoon stage with it. (You can be in the honeymoon stage with a place right?)

I’ve been nursing the longest living cold of all time. People, don’t take your non-stuffy noses for granted. The power of smell: it’s an important one.

>>> I obviously binge watched the “Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life”. Paris and Emily, be still my heart. I love them both so much. Paris closing the bathroom door at the reunion with her foot was priceless.

>>> I blogged about it earlier this week, but last week I was fortunate enough to attend a wonderful event with The White Company. We had an amazing day with the Raymond Blanc team at Manoir.

>>> I know it’s small potatoes compared to most people, but I broke 2000 followers on instagram and I felt super proud of that. (You can follow me here, if you want.)

>>> I also finished “The Crown”. I’d LOVE to know what the Royal Family thinks of it (particularly Phillip). I thought it was really slow at first, and almost gave up on the first episode, but then I was addicted. I can’t wait for Season 2.

>>>Not only have I finished my Christmas shopping, but I’ve also done our Christmas food order. And the food order was paid for entirely by Nectar points we’d saved up. Adulting! (Though I did realise later that I’d forgotten some key herbs, and cheeses).

>>> A friend from drama school is doing a show in Newcastle at the moment, and on Sunday she and her boyfriend popped into York to soak up some festive cheer. It was lovely to get to spend a surprise afternoon with them.

> >> I’ve been keen to explore local eateries. The newest batch I’ve tried is Gatehouse Coffee for brownies and coffee, and brunch at the Pig & Pastry. Everyone go to the Pig. I mean it.

>>> In London, we never had our groceries delivered, but due to our location here in York (and being carless) we have to with a large shop. Guys! Why did no one tell me what I’d been missing out on all these years? And because I’m a night owl, I don’t mind getting the 10pm-11pm time slots (which tend to be 50p) Plus, Morrisons gave us some free gingerbread with their first delivery which was awesome.

>>> We have this hilarious branch bouquet instead of a Christmas tree. I’ve decorated with ornaments and it makes me laugh every time I see it. A true Charlie Brown moment.

>>>I won’t lie, I’ve really been enjoying this warm snap that we’ve had the past few days. Last week’s frost was beautiful, but weather in the teens (celsius) in December? Love it. I either want a snowy, white Christmas, or mild days.

What are your weekend plans? Anyone getting up to anything highly festive?
