Outfitting || Outer York Wanderings

One of my favourite things to do in York is to go on long countryside walks. (I’m super excited to explore the Moors and the Dales this summer.) Getting in some outside time is really key to my happiness. I’m the kind of person where the sunlight really does deeply affect my mood and I managed to soak up some mild rays last week.

Just a short stroll out of the city centre are allotments and river walks and then beautiful fields. Everyone is so happy and waves and chats as you walk by. (This is still a bit strange to my London-trained brain!)

That brings me to this outfit; for stomping around in. My extra thick Joules top provides a perfect remedy to days that are just mild enough to not need my thick winter coat, and you can’t have a countryside walk without a pair of wellies right? The newest addition to my outfit, is that glorious Daniel Wellington watch.

Shortly before Christmas, the lovely people at Daniel Wellington got in touch to ask if I’d like to try one of the watches and I absolutely leapt at the opportunity: I was ecstatic!

Why was I so excited about a watch? (You might ask.)

Well, ages before they got in touch – about 2 years – I purchased a Daniel Wellington for myself and it has been one of my favourite purchases in recent memory. It’s a great quality watch, it looks extremely classic and suits every outfit, and I’ve worn it nearly every day since getting it. I couldn’t wait to get my second Daniel!

After having chosen quite a classic combo for my first watch (brown band, ivory face), this time I opted for a more visually arresting black band, black face in the Sheffield style. It makes me feel really chic. Like all really good leather bands they do take some breaking in before the band fits the way you want it to. My last watch took about a week of fairly consistent wearing to break in, and this one took around 3 days. I paired the watch with the rose gold cuff (size small for my baby wrists) and am really happy with the way that they complement each other.

If you’re in need of a good watch, or want to buy someone a really special gift, I hugely recommend heading on over to Daniel Wellington (and would have recommended them even before they had gotten in touch).

And because I’m extra fortunate, I have a discount code to offer to my readers: you can get 15% off when you shop with the code: RHYMEANDRIBBONS before the 15th of February. (This code works in addition to other discount codes as well!)
