What kind of blogger would I be if I altogether neglected my blog’s birthday? Happy 4th birthday to Rhyme & Ribbons! Back in the frigid winter of 2013, I started blogging to occupy my free time and the ennui that set in after I had finished my master’s and Sam and I had just moved to Stratford-upon-Avon for his tenure at the Royal Shakespeare Company (where I knew relatively no one.)
Rhyme & Ribbons has survived life in Stratford, living in London and is now on it’s 3rd city – York! It’s also been around through two different visa applications, a long-distance separation with me in America, a proposal and a wedding. That’s quite a bit for one little space!
Though I started blogging in winter 2013, I didn’t get “serious” about it till the following year. It wasn’t until then that I even created an instagram and twitter feed for the blog. (Newbie bloggers: avoid my mistake, get social media right away!) Through trial and error, I’ve found my blogging voice, and my photography on this site has gone from wah-wah to pretty okay.
For those of you who have been here from the beginning, thanks for sticking around! And to those of you who are relatively new to this space, thank you so much for deciding that there was enough here to catch your attention. Here’s to many more years and hopefully continuous growth on this space!
