Mother’s Day Chocolates

It’s soon going to be Mother’s Day here in the UK (luckily Americans have till May to short themselves out). And if you’re still looking for something nice for your Mum, I can heartily recommend Hotel Chocolat’s Mother’s Day sleekster box of chocolates. I was fortunate enough to be able to nibble quite a few chocolates from the box (all of them). So I’m here to rank my favourites from the Mother’s Day sleekster box from the tastiest to still pretty tasty.

So here we go! *(In descending order)*

Caramel Cheesecake
Florentine Isabelle
Billionaire’s Shortbread
Peanut Butter
Eton Mess
Fudge Sundae
Supermilk Caesar
Carrot Cake *Sam’s top favourite*
The Brownie
Raspberry Smoothie
Dizzy Praline
Going Nuts
Mousse au Chocolat
Cherry Deluxe
Champagne

The caramel cheesecake was my absolute favourite because it had a creamy milk chocolate combined with salty caramel and a small bite of tangy sour cream. I’m probably not describing it as appetisingly as I could – it’s great!

You definitely need to pick up a box so that you can rate them for yourself! Did I say yourself? I meant, for your Mum.

Or you can add it to your own Easter wish list!

  • Oh my gosh these chocolates look delicious! Carrot cake sounds different and I’m always a big fan of the raspberry or strawberry flavoured chocolates. Although they look too perfect to take out of the box!

    • They are so sweet looking. I’m not a huge fan of carrot cake usually, but as a chocolate it was pretty good πŸ˜‰ xx

  • Damn they look and sound nice

  • Amanda, I recently stumbled across your lovely blog and have fallen completely head over heals. This post especially has been helpful (I’m one of those awful children that leaves Mother’s Day presents until the last minute) but I also really enjoyed your gratitude post from St. Patricks day. Definitely subscribing and looking forward to reading your future work!

    • Thank you so so much for your kind words Rachel! I truly appreciate them. I hope you’re having a great weekend! xx

  • aww these look so yummy, wish i’d be a mum right now and that some small little entity could delivery me one right now heheh. i find it quite funny how different countries celebrate mother’s day on a different day. I think we do celebrate it in Germany in May as well.. better check it so Mama won’t be waiting… πŸ™‚
PS: thinking of trying some flower delivery service… living in the 21th century: me living in London and with the click of a button I can still send her flowers. πŸ™‚

    • I’ve utilised the flower delivery service whilst being in England too! It’s just so handy and convenient. (Sam and I even use it so send to his various family members across the UK – I’ve found the Debenham’s flower service to be really good for that!) x

  • Ah I love the Hotel Chocolat sleeksters – I used to buy them all the time using my shop wages when I was at school (ah to go back to a time before rent and bills!) xxx

    • Haha, I definitely think of school and the pre-rent and bills time as “the good ole days!” πŸ˜‰ xx

  • If only I could eat chocolate πŸ™

  • I absolutely LOVE Hotel Chocolat, how did I not manage to get on this campaign huh?! πŸ˜‰ They’re such delicious flavours, and always beautifully presented! Alice xx

  • I love eating entire boxes of chocolate in one sitting. It’s a thing I’m good at. The trick is to go full chipmunk, and shove as many in your mouth in one go as possible. Mix those flavours well. Utilise that cheek space. Don’t get hung up on all that breathing nonsense.

    • You dirty flavour mixer. I wouldn’t be able to bear it. I’ve never really outgrown separating sweets by colour before eating them. x
