10 Happy Things Lifestyle

Life Lately || Things That Made Me Happy Recently

Life has been very hectic lately, but there’s been so much to stop and appreciate (besides the nice weather, which I’ve been loving!)

Things That Made Me Happy Recently

>>> The Slabb sent my some insanely beautiful chocolate bars: the Baileys One and the Unicorn One. The Unicorn one was an absolute treat for the eyes but I was a bit dubious of it because I’m not usually a white chocolate fan: I can safely say that this bar made me a covert! The sprinkles and marshmallows actually helped save it from being too rich and I’ll never not love something covered in edible glitter. The Baileys one was also delicious: my favourite part of the bar was the fudge pieces, but it was also such a delight when you’d hit a particularly Baileys-y pocket within the chocolate!

Slabb bars aren’t available for purchase just quite yet as they are still in their Kickstarter phase. That being said, you can check out their kickstarter here. To see just how beautiful their bars are you can also find them on Twitter || Instagram || Facebook.

>>> My weekend in Copenhagen – I’ve been pretty vocal on social media about how much I loved the city, but I really, really can’t overstate it! I can’t wait to start sharing some photos and posts about my time there!

>>> I mentioned on twitter a few weeks ago that I split my jeans (embarrassing), well I took the plunge and bought some new Levi’s and I love them!

>>>I’ve managed to eat some insanely good food and even better cocktails at The Botanist twice in the past two weeks: first for my lunch review the other week, and this week for a special cocktail night they were having! If you missed it you can read my review here and there are some pictures from the cocktail night below:

>>> And speaking of even more food, I also had a fantastic meal at Joe’s Kitchen. You can read the review that I posted last week here. But I have two words for you: cinnamon waffles.

>>> The election wasn’t as terrible as it could have been. I pulled an all-nighter to watch the results come in and I wasn’t left with the feeling of dread and despair like the past few times.

>>> York Pride Parade was the weekend before last and it was such a joyful sight! York made history when all of the secondary schools in the city took part in the parade and it’s the first time in the world that that has ever happened!

>>> Handmaid’s Tale ending was epic. I’m glad it stayed true (ish) to the book, and now that we will be completely off piste next season, I can’t wait to see what happens!

>>> We went to our local garden centre to get some new plants and they are filling me with so much joy! We have 17 beautiful plants at the moment and I can’t wait to have even more. #junglehousegoals

>>> I’ve talked to some of you on Twitter about it but I’ve been having some long standing (over a month) problems with my sinuses where they’ve been completely closed. At first I thought it was a cold, then sinusitis, then allergies. I’ve tried all the remedies – steaming, olbas oil, nasal irrigation, a course of antibiotics, antihistamines, nasal sprays – nothing. I have another GP appointment about it today so wish me luck, hopefully second time’s the charm! I just want to be able to smell/taste/breathe through my nose again.

>>> My old university roommate asked me to be a bridesmaids and I’m over the moon – her wedding doesn’t have a date yet, but I still can’t wait for it!

Does anyone have any exciting plans this weekend?
