Oh dungarees (or overalls as my American self would say). I’ve loved you ever since I was little. In the 90s, I rocked many different styles. Trouser length, shorts, embroidered. The list goes on and on. And when I was little, I was decidedly un-cool. But I still lived in those shorts dungarees with absolute abandon.
Little did I know, that a) they’d come back in style and that b) my adult self would love them just as much. Because readers, they are C O M F O R T A B L E. I think it’s the lack of waist that makes them so perfect for throwing on during the weekend and lounging around in. Or dressing them up with a nice top to wear them out of the house.
But now that embroidery has come back with a vengeance this season, part of me wishes that I’d kept those floral embroidered dungarees from my youth. (And I’d still be able to wear them now because I was an actual giant child and have been the same height since then.)
