Happy end of the first week of 2018! I don’t know if it was just me, but I found this week exceedingly difficult to get through. Hopefully I’ll get back into the swing of everything shortly!
I always find January and February the most challenging months of the year to get through; it’s still cold and dark, but without the joy of Christmas to look forward to. So focusing on the positive at this time of year and giving myself things to look forward to really does make a difference!
10 Things That Made Me Happy Recently
>>> Celebrating Christmas in the Cotswolds with friends was wonderful. I’d love to hole away like that every year. (Not necessarily over Christmas, but a good friend holiday!)
>>> A very quiet NYE with Harold and Sam. We were supposed to be in Scarborough with Sam’s family, but my being ill scuppered those plans so we had a rather un-raucous evening in.
>>> I hit 5k on instagram. I know that’s a very, very small number to most people but I’m still quite proud of it!
>>> Back in November I wrote about the Joules DFS collaboration and the chair that I upholstered myself finally arrived. I can’t wait to share it with you!
>>> When we were leaving the Cotswolds, Sam and I made a slight detour to visit Sam’s dad outside of Bristol and Harold was on his absolute best behaviour. I’ve never seen him be so top notch!
>>> I treated myself to a few house bits and bobs in the Anthropologie Boxing Day Sale. I couldn’t help it – their sales always suck me in!
>>> I booked in a trip to Prague in April- I can’t wait for it!
>>> Our local florist was giving away free flowers on Tuesday evening, so I came home with an armful of carnations.
>>> We had friends from Canada come and visit us this week, and though I only could make brief appearances due to work and rehearsal, it was lovely to see them.
>>> The first rehearsal for the play that I’m doing this year went really well and I can’t wait for more!
I’ll be catching up on some sleep this weekend. And next week, I’m looking forward to seeing ‘Hamilton’!
