ABCs of Spring

It’s been a long, slow haul for spring to arrive this year. I’m a summer child through and through but with a spring birthday, I can’t help but love it! (And growing up in New Mexico, spring there was far hotter than the height of summer in the UK – I miss it!)

So it’s time for my annual ABCs of Spring post! Every year, for each season, I countdown (alphabet style) the things that I’d like to do that season. So without further ado, here’s 2018’s ABCs of Spring!

Alfresco meals. It’s not quite warm enough in the UK in the spring for proper picnics, but you can sneak in a few coffees outside here and there.

Bank Holidays! The Spring is filled with Bank Holidays and who doesn’t love a good long weekend?

Clean! I know, I know, I’m very strange but I enjoy a spring clean.

Daylight. I really do feel so much happier the more sun there is.

Easter lunch. I’ll never miss a good excuse to feast!

Fresh flowers

Get outside

Hair cut. This isn’t exciting for anyone except me but I haven’t had a haircut since the end of September and I’m annoyed at the length it’s at right now.

Indoor plants – I have my eyes on some sort of largish plant to add some height to our living space.

Jump in the car and go on day trips. With most of my winter taken up with weekend play rehearsals, I have been itching for some new adventures.

Keep in touch with the theatre community in York and look out for other auditions that I’d enjoy

Learn to shoot on manual better. Sam’s shown me some tricks but I still have so much more to learn!

Move house? All being well, we should be somewhere new this spring!

Nourish my instagram account and stretch myself creatively

Oxford vs Cambridge boat race. It’s one of Sam and my traditions to watch it together.

Passing the Life in the UK test. I apply for ILR this summer and I have to pass this test before I even think about my applications.

Quiet mornings with Harold and Sam with no telly on, coffee in hand and sunlight streaming through the window.

Running in the evening and still having sunlight for it. To be honest, I’ve only had about 1 run this year but I need to start my routine over again.

Sow a small garden. Really we’ll start this now, but hopefully once we are in our new place little tomato and pepper seedlings will be strong enough to start living outside.

Turning 30! It’s a pretty big birthday this year!

Unplug more often and spend some entire weekends away from my phone.

Visiting Prague next month!

Wisteria hysteria. What sort of instagrammer would I be if I didn’t photograph some?

Xylophone Spring Band Concert, York edition.

Yoga. With everything going on this winter, I fell out of my yoga practice. I want to get in to a daily routine for the spring.

Ziplining? I’m planning a spring trip to GoApe in Dalby Forest

What are you planning to do this spring? Anything big that you are looking forward to?
