DIY: Chevron Painting

Happy Memorial Day! I’m not doing a weekend recap today because the weekend isn’t really over, is it? The pinnacle of excitement in my weekend was seeing my brother play tennis in the Heineken Open.

If you’d like to see any photos of my weekend so far follow me on instagram here.

So I’ll leave you today with a Pinterest inspired DIY artwork project.

You’ll need:
Canvas
Two shades of paint
Paintbrushes
Ruler
Pencil

Step 1: Draw out your zigzag pattern in the thickness of your choice in pencil. A good way of creating a perfect zigzag is to divide the canvas into as many lines as you will want, and then using your ruler trace triangles within the horizontal divisions. (One triangle below the other.)

Step 2: Paint your lightest zigzags first. Then your darker shade. Allow them to dry and repeat with as many coats as necessary until you’ve reached your desired shade.
It’s not perfect, but this was one of my first DIYs when we got to Stratford in March
It could only go up from there. And it did. See the DIY LDR painting here
I had to do quite a few glittery coats to get the desired shine.
I hope everyone is having a glorious long weekend!
