A Weekend of Many Weddings

I am still frantically sorting through our vacation photos. Turkey posts will dominate next week, for better or worse. But since we went out of town for two weddings and then a vacation I have a lot to catch up on. So I will start with the wedding weekend extravaganza before our holiday.

Sam was a groomsmen (usher) and the wedding was very traditional. That meant he had to wear tails and a top hat (much to my amusement).

Look at my sleepy eyes and my handsome date.

We were on the “A list” meaning we got to go to the ceremony, wedding breakfast (dinner reception), and the party. Check out my post on the differences between English and American weddings here to learn more about it.

The wedding was at 3 pm and we didn’t arrive home until 2 am. So it was a loooonnnnggg day. (Even longer for Sam who had to arrive at 10 am.) But then we woke up the next morning to repeat the whole thing with a different couple. Who knew the first weekend in October was weddings galore?

This is what happens when you get home at 2 am from a wedding.
Please excuse the fact that you can see my slip. Unless you have been reading this blog just in case one day you might see my underthings. Then you can thank me.
It’s time for sleep.

Hurray for the weekend! I hope everyone has a brilliant one. And whilst I enjoy weddings, I’ll enjoy not having back to back ones this weekend.
