The Hamper: A Very English Gift

In my opinion, hampers are a very English tradition. I hadn’t really heard of them before moving over here. Hampers have a really long history, dating all the way back to William the Conqueror, but it wasn’t until the Victorian era that they became the popular gift choice that they are today.

Harvey Nichols Hampers have long been admired and well rated. They consistently make the Telegraphs list of the best, so it was great to get the opportunity to try one for myself. The Rise and Shine Hamper from Harvey Nichols contained two types of jam (gooseberry and strawberry), fresh honey, two cute mugs, coffee, tea and a bottle of bubbles. (And there’s no better way to start the morning than with a bottle of bubbles, right?!) The products inside the hamper are high-end and they are packaged with extreme care!

I haven’t tried the gooseberry jam yet, but the strawberry was delicious. And the bubbles were the first thing to disappear. (Weekend morning cocktails are the best!) I can also definitely vouch for the deliciousness of the coffee! Sam and I have each claimed a mug already and don’t plan on sharing or swapping.

I received this Rise and Shine Hamper from Harvey Nichols for review, but my opinions are solely my own!

I love that the hamper has breeched the Christmas/ rest of the year divide. Because why limit these bad boys to just December? That being said, hampers do always make good gifts. *Hint, hint*
