This week, the weather in London finally turned. It went from vaguely chilly but mostly mild autumn to winter in the blink of an eye. As I write this, I am sitting here shivering wearing not one but two jumpers. Darn you winter! A white Christmas must be overrated. I’d like to give a tropical Christmas a go in the near future. Or just move somewhere that never gets cold!
You know when you were little, you had “special” clothing that you’d wear for something very specific and then the second that thing was over, your parents would force you to change into something else so you didn’t ruin your special clothes? Well, I never grew out of that stage apparently. I love this coat so much, and wore it on a very special occasion almost 3 years ago, but because I love this coat so much and because it’s so delicate, I’ve only ever worn it about 5 times. So it just hangs in pristine but sad condition in my wardrobe. I think it’s the lace overlay that I adore, but it’s the fact that it’s cream and that I am infinitely clumsy that I get scared to wear it. So I’m trying to change that.
I’ve mentioned before that once September rolls around, I live in my boots. Almost but not quite literally. Jones sent me these beautiful Pallavi boots that Sam is going to have to bury me in. The leather is so incredible soft and they are so gorgeous. They took about 2 days to break in and after that we were made for each other. It probably says a lot about the quality of boots that I usually buy, because when my boots parcel first arrived, I kept thinking I smelled something off around the flat. Then Sam very astutely pointed out that it was probably my new boots and that I was unused to it since I don’t normally have real leather around. (Since arriving the smell has totally dissipated.)
