Life Lately || 10 Things That Made Me Happy

Hello everyone! And a very happy first Friday in July! The summer is absolutely flying by and I’m sure that it will be thick knits and pumpkin spiced lattes before we know it. In the meantime, I aim to eek every ounce of summer out of the next few months. Seaside trips, bbqs and sunburns. The whole shebang!

10 Things That Made Me Happy

>>> There’s been some excellent television on. I finished “American Gods” and loved it, and then I binge watched “Glow”. I wasn’t expecting to like “Glow” but I really got sucked into it! My boss told me that I looked like Alison Brie in “Glow” and I’m not sure if that’s a compliment or an insult.

>>> Sam and I rode the North York Moors Railway on the 20th Anniversary of the release of the first Harry Potter novel. It’s significant because the NYMR is a steam train railway and it was actually used in the first film as Hogsmead station. It was a great day to indulge in something both fangirl-y and historical.

>>> I’ve hit the 6 mile mark during training runs. That might not sound like a big deal to most of you runners out there, but it’s a huge deal to me! Great North Run, here I come.

>>> Last night I went to a bloggers dinner at The Grand Hotel in York. It was a fabulous! I met some excellent people, ate some tasty food and drank some lovely drinks!

>>> Last weekend, Sam and I went and cuddled a litter of dachshund puppies. They were absolutely precious and won’t be able to leave their mother for another 5 weeks. But when they are ready to leave, one of them is mine!

>>> I got a refill on my Aesop Parsley Seed masque and I’d forgotten how much I loved it. It’s absolutely ace – the best masque out there on the market!

>>> Sam and I finished watching “American Gods” it was absolutely fabulous and I can’t wait for the next season. Having long been a fan of the book, I know the general plan for the show but my favourite character at the minute is Mad Sweeney.

>>> We’ve done quite a few Yorkshire based activities lately: going to the Yorkshire Museum again, visiting the Yorkshire Lavender Farm – having a car has facilitated so many amazing things!

>>> I celebrated the 4th of July this year by eating as much junk food as possible – it was a chips and salsa, twinkies, tootsie rolls, redvines and pop tarts dinner!

>>>  One of my close girlfriends is pregnant and I’m so excited to meet her baby, even though it’s still ages away!

There’s a street fete this weekend in my neighborhood that I’m super excited about. What are your plans for the weekend?
