Green Smoothies for Happier Skin

I’ll be totally honest, I know that I don’t get a proper amount of fruit and veg everyday. I try, but it’s still not quite enough. After talking juices fairly extensively with Jaclyn, I knew it was just a matter of time before I too jumped on the green juice bandwagon.

Confession: I signed up to The Knot to keep track of my wedding planning with their premade checklists. But then I promptly deleted the “body routine” and “beauty routine” sections. I’m not planning a new fitness/diet regime  for my wedding, nor am I scheduling any spray tans/teeth whitening sessions for the beauty “goals”. I just want to look like I do now, but that someone who knows how to do hair and makeup took care of my head for once.

The only thing I am going to try to do is keep my skin healthy in the meantime by staying hydrated and eating *slightly* better.

Green Smoothie
juice and fruit

Ingredients:

1 big handful of spinach
1 lemon (juiced)
1 small apple
1 small banana
1 cup of water
1 cucumber
5 ice cubes

Instructions:

Add all your ingredients to your blender and blend until smooth. (It really is that easy.)
When adding the ingredients to the blender, put the spinach closest to the blades on your blender to ensure that it gets roughly chopped. The rest of your ingredients can go in any order that you wish.

This post was in conjunction with The Body Shop’s release of their new Virgin Mojito range which promotes all things green and #HappySkin. I tested their new range, which is released in stores this week and it smells glorious.
