Beauty || A huge beauty haul review

When I attended the Debenhams Party at Mahiki last month, the lovely Emma and I walked away with loads of products to try. It’s taken me ages, but I’ve finally given all the products a go and been able to pick my favourite products.

Debenhams Beauty Haul

LIPS AND NAILS

Too Faced Melted Metallic Dream House – I didn’t know what to expect with this liquid lipstick, especially since it was going to be metallic tinged, but I liked it. It made me feel like a Barbie. I wouldn’t wear it everyday, but it’s fun for special occasions.

Laura Geller Colour Drenched Lipgloss in Ginger – I really didn’t like this product. It was really sticky and the colour wasn’t flattering on me at all.

Burt’s Bees Lipgloss– I love Burt’s Bees chapstick so I was excited to try their lipgloss. The colour was very flattering on me and I found that the gloss wasn’t too sticky.

Urban Decay Matte Lipstick in Bad Blood– I absolutely love this product. It’s my favourite shade of red lipstick that I think I’ve ever tried. I will definitely buy this for myself when the tested runs out.

Benefit Lollitint – I wasn’t particularly impressed with this product which is a shame as I love Benefit. It wasn’t a very flattering blush colour on me and was only a slightly better lip tint.

Essie nail varnish – I love Essie products and this is a classic colour that doesn’t disappoint.

Nails Inc nail polish in Battersea Park – I’m not sure grey is my nail colour of choice, but I can’t complain about the product.

BODY AND FACE

Trilogy mineral radiance mask – I really like this mask and I highly recommend it.

Laura Geller Blush in Tropical Hues – It’s a nice blush. It’s not as good as my long-time favourite Nars in Orgasm, but it would definitely do.

Cheeky Dare to Bare Body Balm – I didn’t really like this product at all. First of all the texture is less whipped body cream and more cream cheese. And I wasn’t too keen on the scent either. It seemed like a floral take on Soap & Glory’s sweet original.

Urban Decay Make Up Setting Spray – I’d never used a makeup setting spray before but it definitely works. I’m not going to get into the habit of using it every day, but for special occasions, definitely! I wouldn’t recommend using it if you wear a lot of powder based make up though as the spray is quite wet.

YSL Youth Liberator Serum – I’m not entirely sure that I’ve actually seen any results from it. But it does smell nice and leaves my skin feeling soft. As a very expensive purchase, I’m not quite convinced that it’s worth the money though.

Marc Jacobs Decadence Perfume – It definitely smells more grown up than other Marc Jacobs perfumes. It still has a sweet undertone.

Benefit Roller Lash –  This is a beauty best seller so I was excited to get the chance to try it out. I really enjoyed it, would would consider buying it in the future. I really like the curved brush.

Make Up Forever Mascara – I wasn’t particularly impressed with this mascara. I found that it flaked really easily, and no one wants black flakes around their eyes by the afternoon.

Benefit Puff Off – This eye gel is supposed to soothe eye puffiness. I’m not convinced that it actually works, but I enjoy the cool soothing sensation when I apply it.

The Balm Eyeshadow Palette – It was….meh. I can tell it’s trying to rival the cult favourite “Naked Palette” but it really didn’t do the trick for me. The lighter shimmery shades that I am most drawn to didn’t show up on my skin at all, and I found that this eyeshadow had the tendency to clump.

In the picture above, I’m using Benefit Roller Lash on one eye (your left) so that you can see the difference. (Right eye, no product).

As you can see, multiple shades didn’t show up at all.
