A Gift Guide For Him || Father’s Day Ideas || Ad

Sam shaves the old-fashioned way; with the kind of terrifying razor that lasts a lifetime but whose blades you change. But even he’ll admit that it is a bit of an effort, especially if you have to shave every day. He’s long hinted that if he had an electric razor, he could give his face a quick whizz and be clean-shaven more often (a win-win for everyone as I’m not keen on stubbly snuggles and he prefers himself clean-shaven too). Alas, I’ve ignored these dropped hints for the last few holidays.

Side note: Did you know the average beard has around 30,000 hairs in it? Fun fact.

Now, I’m not a man, but one of the cool things about this electric razor in my opinion is that it can be used in the shower. In full disclosure, I brush my teeth in the shower sometimes #multitasker so that’s a really appealing feature to me. I might just grab one for my brother for his next birthday too, only because he has a little moustache that I’ve been itching to see disappear ever since he first grew it. (Can you tell I’m an older sister?)

I’ve decided to put together my ultimate men’s facial pamper bundle because I know the guys in my life love their skin just as much as the ladies do. So whether you’re looking for a birthday present, a graduation gift, or just frantically trying to think of something great for Father’s Day, here are my ideas:

Razor
The Braun Series 3 ProSkin 3040s Rechargeable Cordless Wet and Dry Electric Shaver/Razor for Men with Pop-Up Trimmer is actually on offer on Amazon at the moment in case you wanted to snap it up! One of Sam’s first comments after using it was that electric razor technology has come so far along from the last time he owned one. It gave him a surprisingly close shave – as close as a bladed razor. It was super quick and he said that he felt like it felt better for his skin because he wasn’t scraping the skin. Sam noted that it needs to charge for 4 hours first but then you get 45 minutes of shaving time with that charge and it’s a one-push button and your good to go! (Plus there’s a button on the back to activate the pop-up trimmer).

Moisturiser
There are so many great moisturisers out there on the market at the moment. Personally, I think you should have two. One for the nighttime and then a lighter one for the day.

Exfoliator
I actually make my own exfoliators from time to time. One my my favourites (and most simple) is just adding lemon juice to some baking soda, mixing it all into a thick paste, lathering it and letting it sit on your face for a few minutes before giving it a vigorous scrub. The first time Sam let me cover his paste in my homemade concoction, he claimed it was burning but then acknowledged afterward that it really helped take care of blackheads.

Cleanser
The great part about finding a good cleanser is that you don’t have to spend big bucks to find one that does the job. Most drugstore cleansers are absolutely fine and then you can spend more money on other things in putting together the pamper package.

Suncream  Sam actually consistently puts me to shame when it comes to sunscreen use. He wears one nearly every day (even on grey, rainy Northern days) and has done as long as I’ve known him. I’ve gone through some wild years of burning my skin to a crisp outside because I don’t believe in fake tan, and his sunscreen influence on me is always a good thing.

And throw in their favourite snack or drink for extra brownie points.
