Happy Friday and greetings from the depths of the heatwave! We had some much needed (albeit brief) rain last night that lasted for about 5 minutes but hopefully it did the dying plants all some good. It was also hotter in London yesterday than some parts of New Mexico which is just insane.

In case you haven’t heard about it; there’s going to be a spectacular full lunar eclipse tonight, so keep your eyes peeled!

But onwards towards other topics…

10 Things That Have Made Me Happy Recently

10 things that made me happy recently

>>> The obvious good thing to happen lately was being granted Indefinite Leave to Remain in the UK. I did a whole post about it yesterday, if you fancy a read.

>>> Sam and I also checked off another wedding anniversary with little celebration this time, mostly because it was also the same day as my visa appointment. But it was still nice to nod to the occasion.

>>> A friend from America has been staying with us this week, which has been so much fun.

>>> Whilst we were down in London for my visa appointment, I made a point to finally eat at the Temple of Seitan and it was every bit as delicious as I hoped it would be. Their vegan mac ‘n’ cheese was better than most “normal” mac ‘n’ cheese.

>>> We managed to snag some free tickets to ‘Romeo & Juliet’ at the Rose Theatre in York. I definitely enjoyed the production, though my weary bones feel too old to stand for a show these days.

>>>  We celebrated Sam’s mom’s birthday with a big family dinner at Soho House in Shoreditch. There was much merriment to be had by all and it was a great day out.

>>> I rode first class on a train, for the first time every. I drank as many free diet cokes as I could possibly cram into myself and the seats were miles more comfortable.

>>> Whilst we were done in London, I also got to give my new nephew some good snuggles. He is absolutely adorable.

>>> The weekend before I lost my voice, we went to Dalby Forest with friends and did a big forest hike and then a walk to the Bridestones. I need to go again to take photos there!

>>> I tried acupuncture for the first time and loved the sensation of it. I’m being treated for stress and back pain and I’ve enjoyed every second of it so far. In fact, I wish the sessions lasted longer than an hour.

I have very boring jobs like filing my taxes ahead of me this weekend. What about you?
