2022 in Review and Looking Forward to 2023

Hello! Happy New Year to any readers who are checking in to this post. My break didn’t go exactly as expected – I spent the absolute entirety of it ill. After two rounds of antibiotics, I am only finally feeling more like myself again. I can’t think where the past few weeks went (since I was feverish and asleep for the majority). I didn’t have a classic Christmas or New Year’s Eve so resolutions have passed me by altogether. I just want to work as little as possible, snuggle up inside and pay attention to my health. The opposite attitude of a New Year New Me.

But I wanted to take some time to look back on some highlights of 2022:

I qualified as a 200hr YTT. I am finally qualified to teach yoga!
I played Romeo in an outdoor production of ‘Romeo and Juliet’.
I traveled to France for the boyfriend’s 30th.
I saw a close friend from the USA whom I haven’t seen since before the pandemic.
I traveled all over the UK: I went to Edinburgh Fringe, camped the entirety of the NC500 plus Orkney, and spent a long weekend in Brighton.
I attended two weddings and an engagement party.
I’ve been going to weekly hot yoga sessions and they make me feel great.

What I’m looking forward to in 2023:

Hopefully traveling to America for the first time since 2013! It will have been a decade since I’ve been ‘home’.
I’m playing Nora in a modern adaptation of Ibsen’s ‘A Doll’s House”
I can’t wait to see Florence in concert in February.

But above all, I want to say no more often, relax more often, and prioritize feeling better about myself.
