It’s been a few weeks since I’ve done one of these posts and there’s been a lot going on in my life, so I thought I’d try to catch you up as rapidly as possible!
10 Things That Have Made Me Happy Recently
>>> We bought a house! That’s probably the biggest news of all time but because I am paranoid and superstitious, until we had our exchange date I didn’t mention it on instagram or the blog at all. I was too afraid that it would all fall through. But we have the keys and we’ve started a lot of DIY projects and we move our furniture in at the end of the month. Although, annoyingly, because we’ve had to do a course of damp-proofing through the whole downstairs we can’t paint the living room and kitchen for another 6 weeks or so.
>>> I passed my Life in the UK test! Now I just have to spunk about 2k and actually apply for Indefinite Leave to Remain in the UK this summer. But it’s my last hoop to jump through before naturalisation.
>>> I’ve been invited on a once in a lifetime press trip. It’s so annoying to say that I can’t reveal more until later but it’s true.
>>> I had a great trip to Berlin. Not only did I get to see a fabulous show at the Chamaeleon Theatre, but I also got to meet up with my old housemate who has since moved to Berlin.
>>> Sam and I saw “Lady Bird” in the cinema. It’s been my first cinema trip in months and I definitely enjoyed it.
>>> We had a really wonderful, relaxed Easter. It was filled with a lot of good food, mouldering and puzzle doing. Sadly it was filled with zero long walks as it was pouring down with rain all weekend long.
>>> We went to a dog-friendly cafe and Harold had his first “pupaccino”. He was ridiculously keen on it. Now I know what to get him for his 1st doggie birthday.
>>> I spent a lovely day out in Harrogate on what felt like the first and only day of spring so far this year. Harrogate is so close to York and I haven’t spent nearly enough time there. It’s so beautiful.
>>> I turned in my final piece of doula studying work. Now I just have to await feedback, have a meeting and then hopefully graduate the course. And then I start my mentorship!
>>> I found an amazing bike on Gumtree. My bike fell apart and wasn’t worth the cost of repairing it, so I’ve been borrowing a bike for about the last 9 months. It feels nice to give it back and have my own.
This weekend, I’m going on a big foodie walking tour in Malton and following it up by more house and moving prep. What are you getting up to?
