Vegan Teeth Whitening with Smileo

Smileo sent me both their Smileo Teeth Whitening Kit (£58.40) and their 3D Whitening Strips (£59.40). The first thing that immediately attracted me to Smileo as a company is that all of their products are vegan and cruelty-free which is a must, for me.

The Whitening Kit promises visible results, with all-natural ingredients (and certainly peroxide free) that are gentle on the gums and teeth. The kit comes with the whitening gel in easily-appliable syringes. You fill the tray with the gel, attach the UV light to the tray, and pop it in for 10-30 minutes. After 7 days of use, you’re supposed to see a marked difference. The product was very easy to use and quite effective. My teeth were already fairly white (thank you charcoal toothpaste) but you could see a difference. The first photo of me was from when I received the kit, the last photo is after 7 days of use. You can see the difference, but I’ll let you judge for yourself. It’s great value for money, in my opinion, when looking at other whitening kits on the market.

My one criticism (with my sustainable hat on) is that there seems to be a lot of waste created by the kit (used gel syringes, etc). However, you can re-use the tray and UV light, and just continue to buy gel refills so that cuts down, somewhat.

Because I was using the gel tray, I didn’t try the full 3D Whitening Strip regime, however, as someone who grew up using Crest Whitening strips religiously, the Smileo strips felt so much more gentle on my gums. I always found the Crest ones to sting slightly, whereas these had no element of discomfort at all. But the biggest benefit to Smileo strips, versus other strips that I’ve tried in the past is that the Smileo strips stick to my teeth so much better. I’ve always found that strips before slip, slide around, but the thickness of the gel on these meant that there was a much better adhesive grip. I would use this product to in between refills for the Whitening Tray, personally.

One of my favourite things about using Smileo products is that my teeth have felt cleaner and they are squeaky when I brush them with that post-dentist cleaning feel.

Would you try a similar teeth whitening system? I’m very much looking forward to trying Smileo’s Charcoal Powder in a few weeks when it is back in stock. I’ll let you know what I think.
