BECO

BECO is an amazing soap company based out of East London. (Short for Better Considered) 80% of the people who work for BECO are visually impaired, disabled or disadvantaged. BECO aims to save water during their manufacturing process and all their ingredients are 100% eco-friendly, vegan-friendly, cruelty-free and hypoallergenic.

I absolute adore the social message of the company (and their recyclable packaging). Plus I love that each individual product is labeled with the names of who was involved in it. Thanks Ali in tooling, David in assembly and Karen in packaging!

I have the Honey Blossom Triple Milled Organic Soap (£2.59) and it smells absolutely divine! They make shampoo bars as well!

You can buy BECO in Waitrose, Sainsburys and The Co-Op.

Disciple

I am trialing two products from Disciple Skincare. Their Good Skin Oil (£23) which is 100% active botanical face oils aiming to balance hormones, improve elasticity and speed up the heeling process. I’m a big proponent of face oils and this one seems very good value for money compared to other adaptogen-rich oils out on the market.

I’m also trialing the Nigh Shift AHA Oil Cleanser + Cloth (£27 for 100 mL). This is my first foray into oil cleansing, so it definitely took some getting used to at first. This product blends together cactus, hemp, neroli and grapeseed oil alongside the AHA and grapefruit extract. I haven’t necessarily noticed any clearer skin yet but I love how it makes my face feel afterwards. For me, this is definitely an evening cleanser, not a daytime one.

Disciple Skincare is a London-based natural skincare brand.

Herbivore Botanicals

And last, but certainly not least, is natural ingredients and recyclable packaging juggernaut, Herbivore Botanicals. I had previously heard amazing things about Herbivore and I was so excited to try their products.

I trialed their Sea Mist (£16) a coconut and seasalt beach wave hair mist. I found this product to be super similar to the Davines sea salt spray that I use nearly every day. But because the bottle is glass, I am going to keep it and re-use it for other things around the house when it’s finished. The useful packaging gives is a leg up over Davines at the same price point, in my opinion.

The other product that I was thrilled to try because I’d heard such good things about it was Herbivore’s Moon Fruit Superfruit Night Treatment (£47). It’s antioxidant rich and a bit heavy so I don’t use it every night (though I think I would in the winter). I currently layer it on in my nighttime skincare routine before I use any oils.

Do you have any cruelty-free, sustainable beauty brand favourites?
