Life Lately || 10 Things That Made Me Happy Recently

Hello everyone! Happy Friday! There’s a very autumnal chill in the air here in York and I’m just a few degrees away from breaking out scarves and hats soon!

10 Things That Made Me Happy Recently

10 things that made me happy lately

>>> I was gifted this absolutely stunning Chakra Necklace from Daisy London. It was right up my alley as I’d recently done a chakra balancing therapy, so I knew just which chakra that I needed to focus on. (My root/base chakra is sluggish so I need to send some energy there.) So of course, I selected the Base Chakra necklace in rose gold to wear to remind myself to focus on that daily. It’s an absolutely stunning necklace, and I’m extremely tempted by some of the other chakra necklaces that would look absolutely lovely layered together.

>>> We’ve been doing loads of work on our allotment recently and there’s been some brilliant progress. I can’t want to show you some before and after photos; and I especially can’t wait for next summer when we have some things in bloom!

>>> We spent a glorious and laid-back Bank Holiday with friends that was filled with good food. And that’s all that you really need for a long weekend right?

>>> York has a massive soapbox derby on the Bank Holiday Monday, so we took Harold out to watch that, as per our tradition. We saw a crash this year which was reasonably epic! (Everyone was fine though!)

>>> My little cherry tomatoes have been producing some absolute gems recently. I’ll be so sad when the frost gets them!

>>> I completed a 31 day yoga challenge and I’ll share all my thoughts on that soon!

>>> We had friends come up from London and stay with us the weekend before last and we had a great time.

>>> I had a fabulous trip to Berlin last weekend that involved sight-seeing, museums, delicious food and theatre. I couldn’t want for anything better out of the trip! I’ll be writing up a bunch of the individual elements of that trip soon.

>>> Bake Off is back on tv and I can’t wait until Tuesday evenings. But I’m glad that I’m not hosting the #bakeoffbakealong this year because it allows me to enjoy watching GBBO without the intense pressure to bake that previous years have caused. My favourite contestant at the moment is Terry because he brings something a bit different to the group.

>>> I just finished watching AHS: Cult. I didn’t particularly love it, but I wanted to get all caught up on my American Horror Story seasons before the Coven/Murder House mashup premiers. Coven was one of my favourite seasons so I can’t wait for it. And Jessica Lange is back for it, which just makes it even better.

>>> And in light of some recent employment news (redundancy), I’ll be becoming a full-time freelancer in mid-November. That’s always been my ultimate dream and this comes a bit sooner than I’m comfortable with contacts and opportunities-wise but I’m going to seize it like the potential life-changing moment that it may be.

We are heading to London to spend time with some friends this weekend. What are you getting up to this weekend?
