10 Happy Things

Life Lately || 10 Things That Have Made Me Happy Recently

Happy very chilly Friday!

It’s been absolutely ages since I last did my 10 things post. In fact, the most recent one was mid-September. So there’s a fair amount of life things that I can catch you up on.

>>> Sam and  I had a wonderful week in America. It was so nice to go with him to America for the first time and it was especially wonderful to be there as a bridesmaid for one of my dearest friends on her wedding day. And we were also able to catch up with loads of friends who still live in Georgia, as well as squeeze in some beach time!

>>> I had an extremely wonderful Scent Profiling session at Penhaligon’s in Leeds last Friday. I’ll be writing all about it shortly but it it fascinating to get some guidance and know which scents appeal to me more than others and where my preferences tend to lie.

>>> I’ve had some wonderful catchups recently from the cast of the show I was in at the Theatre Royal last year, and it’s been very exciting to see Sam prepping for the show that he’ll be directing at the Theatre Royal in the spring.

>>> I was gifted a few lovely products from Ermana, a natural skincare company. All Ermana products are 100% natural and free from sulphates, parabens, artificial colours and fragrances. They don’t test on animals and all their face and body oils are vegan, however their balms contain some beeswax so cannot be classed as vegan.

I haven’t used the products long enough to have a true judgment of their long term effects, however, so far I love the Cleanse Balm (with grapefruit and galbanum). It smells so lovely and citrussy. I hadn’t really delved into the very popular world of oil cleansing before so it does take a bit of time to get used to cleansing with the balm at first, but my skin feels really soft and hydrated after.

I also was sent the Revive Face Oil (with frankincense and lavender). It also has Vitamin E to support new cell growth, cell regeneration and boost collagen, which helps to reduce fine lines and wrinkles. I haven’t seen a marked difference yet, but with all products it takes time.

I’m very happy with the quality of the Ermana products so far and the packaging is beautiful.

>>> I’ll be blogging about it next week, but I had the best day out at Go Ape. I can’t really recommend it more highly. And now I can’t wait to be on some zipwires again soon!

>>> I’ve been doing all things festive with friends. From pumpkin carving to pumpkin seed roasting, it’s been all about the autumn in our household lately.

>>>  Last Friday we went to a wonderful Halloween party and this Wednesday we stayed in and ate seasonal snacks, read my Tarot cards and used a Ouija board. It was a great Halloween.

>>> We’ve made some great progress in the allotment lately and I *think* it’s going to be in great shape come springtime. We’ve planted some onions, garlic, shallots and peonies and we are waiting on some bare-root roses to get into the ground before the cold really starts to sink in.

>>> I had to make a flying trip to London to attend an appointment at the American Embassy so that I could renew my US passport, and whilst I was there I managed to meet my friend’s lovely new baby and squeeze in an afternoon with the wonderful Emma. All in a day’s work!

>>> Even though the state of New Mexico certainly doesn’t make it easy, I managed to get in my overseas absentee ballot for the midterm election in in plenty of time.
