ABCs of Spring

Alfresco meals. It’s not quite warm enough in the UK in the spring for proper picnics, but you can sneak in a few coffees outside here and there.

Bank Holidays! The Spring is filled with Bank Holidays and who doesn’t love a good long weekend?

Clean! I know, I know, I’m very strange but I enjoy a spring clean.

Daylight. I really do feel so much happier the more sun there is.

Easter lunch. I’ll never miss a good excuse to feast! Plus it’s asparagus season. Hooray!

Fix my bike. After a long winter it needs a little TLC before it will be rideable again.

Getting to spend loads of time outside.

Harold being able to roam outside. We like to leave the back door to the garden open for the wee beast so he can take himself out whenever he likes. He’s been distressed when it’s cold and we keep the door shut.

Immerse myself in a new pursuit.

Jump in the car and go on day trips. With most of my winter taken up with weekend play rehearsals, I have been itching for some new adventures.

Keep the house filled with fresh flowers.

Lots of time spent in the sunshine just being with friends.

May. It’s my birthday month so of course I love it dearly.

Nourish my instagram account and stretch myself creatively.

Oxford vs Cambridge boat race. It’s one of Sam and my traditions to watch it together.

Potentially becoming a citizen. I sent my application away about a month and a half ago now. It can take up to six months to process but here’s to hoping for some good news this spring!

Quiet mornings with Harold and Sam with no telly on, coffee in hand and sunlight streaming through the window.

Running in the evening and still having sunlight for it. To be honest, I’ve only had about 1 run this year but I need to start my routine over again.

Sow the allotment. We’ve some things in the ground already and I have the rest of my little plants waiting to go outside.

Take better care of myself.

Unplug more often and spend some entire weekends away from my phone.

Visiting new places. I don’t have any trips booked at the moment but I’m positive that something will arise.

Watch the last season of Game of Thrones.

Xylophone Spring Band Concert, York edition.

Yoga. With everything going on this winter, I fell out of my yoga practice. I want to get in to a daily routine for the spring.

Zzz. Catch up on some sleep that was sorely lacking from my winter schedule.

What are you planning to do this spring? Anything big that you are looking forward to?
