Small Moments of Relaxation

With the change of the seasons and the early sunset, I feel like fatigue and stress sets in a bit quicker. It’s at this time of year that you really need to grab some small moments of relaxation.

Indulge in a fantastic cup of tea.

Good Earth is one of my favourite tea brands due to their amazing flavours and their sustainable ethos. A lot of teabags actually contain micro-plastics to help bind the tea bags closed. Good Earth does not. They also work with the Ethical Tea Partnership to create “a fairer, better, more sustainable tea industry for workers, farmers and the environment.” Good Earth Tea, delicious teas that dare the be different, 100% natural ingredients and innovative flavour combinations to deliver full flavour from nature, while looking after the planet working with the ethical tea partnership, rainforest alliance and 100% recyclable with beautiful biodegradable teabags.

Also 1% of Good Earth’s gross sales go to environmental non-profits. That way every teabag gives back to the planet.

Drinking tea can actually help reduce stress and anxiety. Tea can also help promote glowing skin. Particularly in the autumn and winter, our skin tends to get dry. But luckily, it is also the perfect season to enjoy a hot cup of tea and stay hydrated with something more than water. Some teas, like, have vitamins and amino acids, contain catechins to stimulate collagen production and keep cells healthy. Rooibos tea is an excellent anti-aging remedy thanks to its antioxidants and zinc levels, which can also balance hormones and prevent acne.

Good Earth also makes kombucha if you are as kombucha mad as I am! They are also offering a 50% cashback offer through Shopium at the moment.

Eat some healthy snacks.

If you find yourself in a mid-afternoon brain fog it might be a sign that you need a quick pick-me-up. Good Earth’s Moroccan Mint pairs well with the brain-boosting power of a handful of walnut, almonds or pumpkin seeds.

And their Hibiscus, Rose, & Sweet Berries pairs brilliantly with some dark chocolate, a buckwheat bar or some pomegranate seeds.

Take a moment to read a chapter or two.

I have an ever-growing “to-read” pile next to my bed. I put together a compilation of books that my two favourite Good Earth teas reminded me of in case you want any reading recommendations. The tea version of wine pairing!

Experts say that reading every day is a great way to reduce stress and improve mental cognition.

Get your body moving.

I haven’t had time this term to go to a proper Yoga studio; however, I’ve found that I feel so much better when I spend few minutes every day stretching. Even if it is just a quick 5-10 minute sun salutation sequence in the morning before I start getting ready for work.

Moving my body makes my mind feel a bit more clear and ready to tackle what the day brings.
