ABCs of Summer

It’s time for my annual ABCs of summer list. With all the warm weather we’ve been having here in the UK, it feels like summer has been underway for a lot more than just about a week. So without further ado, here we go!

ABCs of Summer

Arrange my move for the end of the summer.

Barbecuing at every possible occasion. There isn’t a single food stuff that I don’t think I’d prefer grilled! Grilled lettuce is especially tasty if you haven’t tried it before.

Celebrate the 4th of July by eating my favourite American snacks for dinner. And maybe lighting a sparkler or two!

Detox. I want to have a social media detox weekend where I don’t pick up my phone from Friday to Monday.

Eating outside. It’s messy and there’s usually ants but I still love it. Even if it’s just having my morning coffee in the garden.

Find a local pick-your-own farm to pick strawberries. Balloon Tree Farm is down the road from me and I think they are opening up.

Get my housing sorted for the autumn.

Harold’s third anniversary with me. Harold turned 3 a few weeks ago, and in a few weeks time, he’ll have lived with me for 3 full years. It seems like he’s always been here.

Ice cream. Need I say more? Bouja-Bouja ice cream is the best vegan ice cream around, especially the salted caramel flavour.

Just go with the flow. I’m a very type-A, planning type and I want to try to practice chilling out as much as possible.

Keep my toes as free from shoes as possible. Make the summer my best barefoot life.

Lesson plan for next year. I’m hoping to get a massive headstart on my Autumn planning.

Make a flower crown.

Nature hikes in the sunshine.

Open air whenever possible.

Prioritising my mental health. The spring was less than good.

Quiet nights at home.

Relax a little. I haven’t been very good at self-care or relaxation in awhile.

Seaside trips. With the coast so close there’s no real excuse not to go!

Take better care of my physical health.

Uncover some amazing places to explore near my new home.

Visit someplace new in the UK. Money is quite tight right now, but I hope to have at least one summer trip to see something new. Even if it’s just a day trip.

Wild swim as much as possible. I’ve already been twice this summer and I want to go loads more.

Xylophone band practice. But social distancing practice.

Yoga classes. I have been doing loads online and I’m even toying with doing yoga teacher training online this summer.

Zip around for some local hikes and explorations!

What are your summer goals?
